Cancellation Policy
(It's longer than average, but it's a crucial read!)
Your time and mine are both valuable. That’s why it’s important we’re all where we are, when we say we will be!
However, I understand that Life Happens, and sometimes either party may need to cancel a session.
I want to share with you that I am disabled too, and live with multiple chronic conditions. I work at limited capacity on a part-time basis to supplement my Disability Support Pension.
Two of my disabilities that have significant physical and psychological impacts are Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). They can flare up suddenly and unpredictably - I could go to bed feeling okay and wake up unable to leave the house. I could start the day fine, but be out of action by lunchtime. I could recover that night, or be out of action for weeks. Trust me, it’s just as frustrating to me as it is to you! This fluctuating capacity is also called 'dynamic disability.'
Sometimes, I will need to cancel a session with very little notice. Once I even had to cancel with just an hour's notice. Please know that I don’t do this lightly! Of course, you will never be charged in this situation. Flare ups and very limited energy reserves also mean that non-F2F work (such as resource/curriculum development, or report writing) can hit unpredictable obstacles, requiring longer completion times. I ask for your patience and understanding, and endeavour to keep you informed in these situations.

The crux of it:
I will notify you immediately once I know I need to cancel a session, and ask that you do the same. Cancellations by you with less than 4 hours' notice will be charged at the full rate. If you are late to a session, the full session rate is also charged and I am unable to extend your session to make up any lost time.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and for respecting my capacity. I look forward to working together to find the right people, right knowledge and right opportunities for your best life!

~Tess
